Vivian Chua: In search of a Malaysian identity

Meet Vivian Chua, one of the composers from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra's (MPO) first ever Forum for composers in March 2003. An active composer and arranger particularly of local folk songs, Chua most recently wrote `Mercu Kegemilangan' for large orchestra and choir, a commission by the MPO to commemorate their 20th year of formation. UPDATED The Malaysian Composers Collective (MCC) has done Malaysia proud yet again, as music from its groundbreaking Free Hand Festival 2019 at UCSI University's Institute of Music in 2019 made it into world-famous UK broadcaster BBC's classical music channel BBC Radio 3 beginning October, 2020.
