New Zealand shifts ACL and ISCM festivals to 2022
UPDATED : The Composers Association of New Zealand (CANZ) hosts the next ACL festival in Christchurch. Originally scheduled in April 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has forced the event to be moved to 2022. Originally, it was to run from Monday 27th April, till the evening of Saturday 2nd May. Many festival events will combine with the ISCM World New Music Days until 30th April, and the final two days will be ACL only. Passing of Japanese composer Isao Matsushita felt throughout Asia Pacific
On September 16 Japan lost its veteran composer Isao Matsushita, who passed away at the age of 66. He was vice president of Tokyo University of the Arts, Professor of Performing Arts Center and President of the Japan federation of Composers (JFC). His departure was strongly felt throughout the Asia Pacific region. Rayner Naili to bring the sounds of Sabah to the Asia-Pacific stage

In memory of Jack Body, towering figure in Asia Pacific music
The Asian music community has lost a towering figure in the passing of veteran New Zealand composer Jack Body. He passed away on 10 May in Wellington. News of his succumbing to his long fight with cancer was received with great sadness for many of us who knew and was inspired and touched by this warm, generous spirit. Body was instrumental in embracing Malaysia back into the ACL fold and in encouraging MCC to join as member in 2007-2009.
