MCC is proud to partner with UCSI Institute of Music for the 3rd Free Hand Contemporary Composers Piano Festival in September 2023. During the festival, two composers will be commissioned to write a new piano work which will be the set piece for Senior and Young Artist Categories for the UCSI University International Piano Festival & Competition in 2024. Chan Wei Tuck and Jessica Cho win Free Hand 2022 awards
Free Hand 2022 made an exciting return to UCSI University on 25 June, 2022 and nine composers had their works performed by nine members of the UCSI faculty, alumni and students. The evening opened with Ainolnaim Azizol’s Berlabuh , an evocative free-style sonic painting played by Ho Su San to a backdrop of natural sounds recorded by the composer. Premiering at MPO all November 2021 - Malaysian chamber works
Premiering all through this month are brand new Malaysian chamber works performed by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. The works will be aired on MPO TV, after the initial concert planned for March earlier this year was unable to take place due to the pandemic lockdown. As we approach the close of 2020, we are happy to announce that MPO will be collaborating with MCC in their chamber concert series next year. The piano is one of Malaysia's most popular classical instruments, with tens of thousands learning the instrument every year.
